Damascus, SANA- Three Indian, Emirati and Jordanian planes arrived at Damascus International Airport on Wednesday, loaded with humanitarian and medical aid for the earthquake victims.
Chargé d’affaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus, Satinder Kumar, stated in a statement to SANA reporter, that another aid plane carrying relief and medical materials is being prepared, which will arrive within the next 24 hours.
Kumar pointed out that the plane that arrived on Wednesday carries about six tons of medical materials and medicines.
In turn, Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Mu’ataz Douaji, stated that the relief materials that arrived at Damascus International Airport will be shipped to the provinces affected by the earthquake immediately.
He added that the operations room at the ministry is following up all the work in it, moment by moment.
Douaji noted that the aid plane that arrived from the UAE on Wednesday is the third aid plane of its kind.
In turn, Chargé d’affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus Dr. Basil al-Kayed, said that the aid plane that arrived was provided by the Jordanian people to the Syrian people under the directive of King Abdullah II, stressing that Jordan will provide everything it can for Syria in these circumstances.
Al-Kayed noted that the aid includes all kinds of humanitarian aid that help in relief efforts in these difficult conditions.
