Libya and EU Border Support Mission Hold Fifth Meeting in Tripoli

Tripoli: The Joint Committee between Libya and the European Union Border Support Mission in Libya (EU BAM) held its fifth meeting in Tripoli. The meeting brought together experts from both sides to discuss various strategic issues concerning border support and cooperation.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Abu Bakr Ibrahim al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department on the Libyan side, and Ian Vechtea, Head of the EUMA Mission in Libya, on the EU BAM side. The discussions focused on reviewing the mission’s recent activities and programs, planning future work, and exploring proposals to enhance the partnership between Libya and the European Union.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of the meeting in strengthening the Libyan-European partnership, particularly in terms of border management and support. The collaboration aims to address mutual concerns and develop a strategic framework to improve border security and cooperation efforts.
