Al-Baour Reviews Libya’s Security Council Candidacy Preparations

Tripoli: Taher Al-Baour, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, reviewed with the ministry’s department directors on Sunday the preparations for Libya’s candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was attended by the directors of the departments concerned with Arab and African Affairs, and Islamic Affairs, in addition to employees tasked with following up on the file in the International Organizations Department.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the preparations for Libya’s candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the period 2028-2029, as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening Libya’s position on the international stage and supporting its presence in multilateral forums.
