Japanese and Libyan Officials Discuss Enhanced Health Sector Collaboration

Tokyo: A significant meeting took place between Mr. ONISHI Yohei, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Dr. Mohamed Ali Al-GHOUJ, the Minister of Health of Libya, lasting approximately 15 minutes. This meeting was conducted at 20 pm and centered around strengthening the cooperative relationship in the health sector between the two nations. According to African Press Organization, Mr. ONISHI extended a warm welcome to Minister Al-Ghouj upon his visit to Japan, highlighting the importance of a recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation with Mr. Ueno, Japan's Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. This memorandum is seen as a step towards enhancing the positive momentum in bilateral relations. Mr. ONISHI emphasized Japan's ongoing contributions in the health sector and expressed optimism about the potential for further collaboration. Minister Al-Ghouj, in his response, conveyed his appreciation for Japan's efforts and contributions in the medical field. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Libya and Japan, building upon the foundation laid by the signed memorandum. Both representatives agreed on the importance of continuing to promote bilateral relations not only in health but also in other various fields, underscoring the mutual benefits of such cooperation.
