TRIPOLI: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya’s Government of National Unity has engaged in discussions with India’s Charg© d’Affaires aimed at resuming the full operations of the Indian Embassy in Tripoli. This move is seen as a significant step towards strengthening diplomatic ties and supporting reconstruction efforts in the war-torn nation.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place between Nouri Al-Kaseh, Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Muhammad Aleem, the Charg© d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Libya. The discussions focused on updating existing agreements between the two countries, underscoring the ongoing commitment to bilateral relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Facebook account, confirmed that the discussions included arrangements for the embassy to resume its full operations in Tripoli. This development is expected to facilitate the return of Indian companies and workers, who are anticipated to play a crucial role in Libya’s reconstruction efforts. Both parties emphasized the significance of this collaboration for the country’s rebuilding process.
