Baghdad - The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed with the head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Iraq, Ali Al-Barir, cooperation in combating the drug scourge.
The ministry said in a statement: “During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of common concern regarding increasing cooperation in combating the drug scourge.”
Al-Barir praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in the field of combating drugs and organized crime, especially the efforts made by the Minister in providing logistical, training and intelligence support in this field.
For his part, the Minister thanked the United Nations for its support and assistance to the Ministry of Interior, which seeks to continue joint coordination in the security field.
