Parl’t Speaker Lauds Historic Ties Between Egypt, UAEAl-Manfi discusses with the British Ambassador developments in the political situation in Libya.

House of Representatives Speaker Hanafi Gebali underlined the historic ties between Egypt and the UAE at all levels.

He made the remarks while receiving Saqr Ghobash, the Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council, and his accompanying delegation.

Gebali highlighted the leap Egypt is witnessing in the infrastructure domain, especially in roads network, thus promoting the promising investment climate in Egypt.

Gebali noted that the Egyptian and UAE stands are almost identical with regard to regional issues, topped by the Palestinian cause especially their complete rejection of displacing the Palestinians and liquidating the Palestinian cause.

For his part, Ghobash reiterated the historic ties between Egypt and the UAE, highlighting Egypt’s leverage at the regional and international levels.

He lauded the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

As for the situation in the Gaza Strip, Ghobash lamented what is happening in Gaza, lauding Egypt’s steadfast stand in the face of plans of displacing
Palestinians.

He condemned the international community’s double standards in dealing with the crisis.

Tripoli: Today, Wednesday, at the Council’s headquarters, the President of the Presidential Council, ‘Mohamed Al-Manfi,’ discussed with the British Ambassador to the State of Libya, ‘Martin Longden,’ the latest political developments in Libya, and pushing them forward to reach the elections as soon as possible.

The Presidential Information Office reported that the meeting discussed the progress made in the national reconciliation project, and the preparations for the inclusive forum that will be held in April of this year, in addition to Britain’s support for the Supreme Finance Committee as a tool that ensures fair distribution of resources with disclosure, transparency, and rationalization of spending.

According to the office, Al-Manfi affirmed during the meeting his keenness to continue consultations with all parties with the aim of reaching a comprehensive political settlement that leads to free and fair elections to which all Libyans are satisfied, stressing that the comprehensive forum will be a new b
eginning for tolerance and amnesty among Libyans.
