High-Risk Levels of Forest Fires to continue in southern parts of Syrian coastal mountains

Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform(FIRMO) said that gradual decline in the risk levels of fires in forest sites in northwestern Syria will begin tomorrow Saturday.

FIRMO, through its Facebook page indicated that the impact of medium fire risk levels on most of the forest sites, with the southern parts of the eastern slopes of the coastal mountain range still being affected with high levels of fire risk.

The ongoing natural conditions of heat and drought continue to bolster high levels of fire risks on Friday.

The platform cautioned against any activities that could potentially spark a fire outbreak.

The platform note that the risk maps are prepared by the Remote Sensing Authority ,in cooperation with Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ministry and the Meteorology Department.

The platform called on citizens not to ignite any fires and to report any fire or smoke on the free numbers 188 and 113.
