Chad Plans to Open Consulates and Establish Direct Flights to Libya

Qubba: Chad has announced its intentions to open consulates in the Libyan cities of Benghazi, Sabha, and Kufra, alongside establishing a direct flight route to Libya. This initiative was disclosed by the Chadian Ambassador to Libya, Tahir Asu Youssef, who highlighted efforts to establish air and land freight routes between the two nations. The move is aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and capitalizing on free trade zones.

According to Libyan News Agency, the announcement was made during a meeting between Aguila Saleh, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Chadian Ambassador on Monday in Qubba. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and developing joint cooperation across several key sectors.

A statement from Abdullah Blihaq, the official spokesperson for the House of Representatives, indicated that the discussions included potential cooperation in education, economy, investment, trade, and culture. The aim is to serve mutual interests and promote stability and development in the region.

The Chadian Ambassador conveyed greetings from Chad's President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, reaffirming Chad's commitment to developing strategic relations with Libya. He emphasized the historical ties between the two nations and Chad's eagerness to expand cooperation for mutual benefit.
