Review of the Libyan-Italian Joint Cooperation Mechanism in Special Forces and Counter-Terrorism

Tripoli: Libyan Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, met on Tuesday with the Commander of the Italian Joint Special Operations Forces, Vice Admiral Paolo Pezzotti, and his accompanying delegation to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and strengthening support in the areas of military training and consultation between Libya and Italy.

According to Libyan News Agency, this meeting took place at al-Namroush's office with Pezzotti, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, the Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Force, the Director of the Chief of Staff's Office, the Director of the Training Department and Head of the Libyan-Italian Technical Cooperation Committee, and the Commander of the Special Forces.

The General Staff stated that the meeting focused on reviewing the mechanism for joint cooperation in the field of special forces and counter-terrorism, with the aim of enhancing the combat capabilities of Libyan army personnel. They also discussed the work of the Libyan-Italian Military Cooperation Committee.
