Libyan Prime Minister Declares Official Holiday for Prophet’s Birth Anniversary

Tripoli: The Libyan people and the Islamic nation are celebrating today the anniversary of the Prophet's birth. The Libyan people and the Islamic nation celebrate today, Tuesday, the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal 1448 AH, the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, issued a decree declaring today, Tuesday, an official holiday in observance of the Prophet's birthday. The decree exempts institutions and facilities providing humanitarian and security services from the holiday, while preserving the right of their employees to receive compensation for their work on this day in accordance with applicable legislation.
