American drone planes carry out air strikes over Gaza

Baghdad – Pentagon officials said that the United States is carrying out reconnaissance flights with drones over the Gaza Strip on a mission to locate potential hostages held by the Hamas movement.

According to what the American New York Times reported, this step comes within the framework of joint efforts with the Israeli army, although the American aircraft participating in the operation do not carry weapons and do not participate in any combat operations.

According to the newspaper, the operations, which include MQ-9 drones, focus on identifying “signs of life” and collecting intelligence information, and mainly target areas in the southern Gaza Strip, while Israeli army forces operate in the north.

Reports indicate that there are at least six of these reconnaissance aircraft involved in the search for the hostages, as it is believed that ten missing Americans may be among the people detained in the tunnel network run by the Hamas movement. /End
