Baghdad, South Korea announced the arrival of a military plane to Tel Aviv to evacuate its citizens and the citizens of Japan and Singapore from Israel.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry announced that the country's government decided yesterday, Friday, to send a military transport plane and a rapid response team to Israel, due to the sharp escalation of the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas, and the difficulties it caused for civilian aircraft to arrive at Tel Aviv Airport.

The statement indicated that the plane left last Friday evening and arrived in Israel this morning.

The statement said: “The plane will transport 163 of our citizens in Israel, including 81 residents and 82 tourists, this evening on a military transport plane.”

In addition to the South Koreans, the plane will carry 51 people from Japan and 6 from Singapore.

The South Korean authorities plan to continue supporting the remaining South Koreans in Israel by ensuring their safe movement by land and air "to safer areas."

191 South Koreans left Israel on a chartered flight and arrived in their country last Wednesday.

Another temporary Korean Air flight from Dubai to Incheon on Saturday brought back South Korean citizens.

Earlier this week, Korean Air canceled its flights between Incheon and Tel Aviv, due to security concerns as the conflict escalates.
