Vatican State Secretary meets Chairman of Board Trustees Chairman of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence

Vatican, His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of the Vatican City State, received Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain established an effective and unique model of tolerance and moderation and is exerting tireless efforts to consolidate the principle of dialogue among cultures and civilisations and all humanity.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa lauded the strong relations between Bahrain and the Vatican, highlighting their keenness on promoting peace and tolerance globally.

He recounted the historic visit of His Majesty the King to the Vatican and his meeting with His Holiness the Pope of the Catholic Church, which reflected the royal vision on building bridges
of dialogue and rapprochement between different religions and cultures. The chairman also recounted His Holiness’s visit to the kingdom and his participation in the Bahrain Forum East-West Dialogue for Human Coexistence.

During the meeting, the chairman shed light on key royal initiatives to promote a culture of coexistence, tolerance, and human fraternity, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration and the Kingdom’s civilisational heritage and moderate, balanced vision.

He added that the Holy See was willing to cooperate with the King Hamad International Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.

On his part, His Eminence expressed his appreciation to His Majesty for his noble humanitarian initiatives that benefit all peoples of the world and his patronage of international conferences promoting dialogue, mutual respect, and religious freedoms. He wished Bahrain further success and prosperity.
