Tripoli: Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, met with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Libya and the EU in the military and security fields. According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed efforts to support and develop the capabilities of the Libyan army, enhance efforts to reunify the military institution, and explore avenues for cooperation in managing and securing maritime borders to contribute to security and stability. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to serve mutual interests and support efforts to build professional military institutions capable of fulfilling their national duties. This meeting, according to the General Staff, comes within the framework of ongoing consultations with international partners to strengthen cooperation and support the stability of the Libyan state.
