Manama, Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the children’s triathlon race was held at the Sofitel Zallaq Hotel. The race was attended by Shaikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairman of The Triathlete Factory Academy, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC, Abdullah Abdulsalam, President of the Bahrain Triathlon Association.
The event, organised by The Triathlete Factory Academy with the support of BOC, saw significant participation.
Following the race, HH Shaikh Khalid crowned the top three winners in a number of age categories, which included:
– 6-7 years: 25m swimming, 800m cycling, 300m running.
– 8-9 years: 50m swimming, 800m cycling, 600m running.
– 10-11 years: 150m swimming, 2km cycling, 1km running.
– 12-13 years: 200m swimming, 4km cycling, 2km running.
– 14-15 years:
300m swimming, 4km cycling, 2km running.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his delight at the large participation of children, emphasising the importance of the race in encouraging a healthy lifestyle from a young age. He added that the children’s triathlon is an important step towards promoting awareness of physical activity, contributing to the development of a generation capable of future achievements. His Highness Shaikh Khalid also highlighted the role of such events in further advancing values like teamwork, cooperation, and respect among children, helping to develop their personalities in a positive competitive environment.
HH Shaikh Khalid thanked The Triathlete Factory Academy for its efforts in organising this annual race, which provides fun and benefits to the participating children, and wished them continued success.
