The Turkish security forces succeeded in arresting a spy cell in Istanbul consisting of 7 people working for the Israeli Mossad, including members of Turkish, Syrian and Lebanese nationalities.

Local media sources, quoting a Turkish security source, said that these seven defendants were assigned the task of collecting information on defense industries in Turkey and on the movements of Arab dissidents residing in Turkey.

They indicated that the security forces, by tracking the movements of one of the suspects, were following Egyptian dissidents in Al-Fateh district of Istanbul, where he was arrested in order to fully reveal the threads of that spy cell.

The security source confirmed that these defendants had received advanced training outside Turkey and had highly professional skills to avoid detection by the Turkish security services, which had been tracking their movements for a long time.
