The President of the Republic Receives A Delegation From The Farmers Of Kirkuk

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met today, Sunday, at Baghdad Palace, a delegation that included a number of farmers in Kirkuk Governorate, in the presence of the head of the General Authority for Kurdistan Regions outside the region's administration, Fahmy Burhan.

The president stressed, "The necessity of fairness to the people of Kirkuk from all components, indicating that the city has suffered a lot during the past decades as a result of the policies of tyranny and marginalization by the former regime."

He pointed out, "The outstanding issues must be resolved in a way that guarantees the return of rights to their owners and the unjust decisions taken by the dictatorial regime against the city of Kirkuk."

He stressed, "The importance of working to cancel the decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council in order to reach satisfactory solutions for all, pointing to the importance of taking the right and legal decisions to solve problems related to the issues of peasants and farmers in Kirkuk."

The statement added, "The President of the Republic touched on the need to consolidate peaceful coexistence among the components of Kirkuk, who have lived close to each other for decades, and the importance of enhancing security and services for all citizens."

He pointed out, "The Presidency of the Republic is ready to extend a helping hand to all components and assist them in reaching satisfactory radical solutions, through coordination with the competent authorities from the Supreme Judicial Council, the Article (140) Committee, the Ministries of Justice and Agriculture and the concerned authorities."

The President directed the delegation to hold meetings with a number of ministers and relevant state institutions.

For their part, the members of the delegation "expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his proposals aimed at achieving rights and protecting peaceful and community coexistence in Kirkuk, and they also reviewed a number of problems facing the people of Kirkuk."
