The meeting with (Al-Lafi) and leaders in the army confirms the speedy formation of a joint force to protect the southern borders of the country.

The representative of the Presidential Council, in his capacity as the Supreme Commander of the Army, “Abdullah Al-Lafi”, met today, Tuesday, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General “Muhammad Al-Haddad”, accompanied by the Commander of the Border Guard Staff, Major General “Nuri Sharata”, and the Director of Operations Department in the Libyan Army, Major General “Abdel Fattah Al-Balouq”, who reviewed the steps taken to secure the borders, according to a well-established strategic vision in light of the rapid events taking place in the states of Sudan and Niger.

Council sources stated that MP “Al-Lafi” stressed the necessity of securing the borders, continuing support for the efforts made in this regard, and providing the logistical capabilities that qualify the military units to carry out their tasks.

During the meeting, emphasis was also placed on speeding up the formation of a joint force to protect the country’s southern borders.
