The Benghazi municipality is following up the procedures for compensating citizens whose properties were damaged as a result of the war that took place in the past years.

Benghazi The head of the Benghazi municipality’s steering council, “Al-Saqr Omran Bujwari,” met with the head of the debts of the Ministry of Housing and Construction in the Eastern Region, “Abu Bakr Al-Barghathi” and the director of the Housing and Utilities Office in the municipality, “Imad Akweri” procedures to compensate citizens whose properties were damaged by the war in the city in the past years.

The meeting, which was held in the presence of a number of members of the Damage Survey Committee, discussed the measures taken by the committee regarding the inventory of damaged buildings, as the committee provided a full explanation of the measures it took during the last period, represented in completing the inventory of (6666) completely and partially damaged properties, and the problems and the difficulties encountered in its work and the possibility of addressing them.

The Chairman of the Steering Council stressed the need to actually start determining the values of these compensations and refer them to the Central Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Construction, as soon as possible, so that the necessary measures are forgotten about allocating the necessary funds and disbursing them to those entitled to them by the competent authority.

He also stressed the continuation of the inventory work for the buildings that were not completed by the committee’s inventory procedures, issuing urgent instructions to provide the committee’s needs for devices and equipment imposed by the nature of the work, provided that the committee provides the municipality with periodic reports on the results of its work.
