Tripoli: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Libya, Richard Kadeljak. The meeting focused on the ongoing political, economic, and security developments within the country.
According to Libyan News Agency, the mission reported on its Facebook page that Tetteh and Kadeljak exchanged perspectives on the current situation in Libya. They highlighted the importance of institutions rooted in the rule of law as a foundation for achieving stability and sustainable peace in the region. Additionally, the meeting underscored the need for international coordination mechanisms, referencing the International Follow-up Committee on Libya meeting held in Berlin on June 20. Plans were discussed for a retreat for the co-chairs by the end of July, which would precede the mission’s announcement of a political roadmap.
The Czech ambassador reiterated his country’s support for a Libyan-led and owned political process. This process, facilitated by the United Nations, aims to lead to national elections and the establishment of unified institutions in Libya.
