Takala and Khoury Discuss Efforts to End Political Division in Libya

Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, to discuss the latest political developments in the country. The meeting took place at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli, with First Deputy President Hassan Habib and Second Deputy President Musa Faraj in attendance. The discussions focused on advancing the political process to end the division and achieve stability through a consensual approach that aligns with the aspirations of the Libyan people.

According to Libyan News Agency, the talks also addressed ways to resolve the dispute concerning the completion of procedures for the High National Elections Commission. This is considered a crucial first step in the roadmap to ending the political division and facilitating comprehensive elections in Libya.
