Jeddah: Libya and Saudi Arabia have taken significant steps towards strengthening their bilateral relations and agreeing on coordinated positions in international forums. The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya, Taher Al-Baour, met with the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister, Waleed Al-Khuraiji, on Sunday to discuss these matters.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 22nd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), convened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Libya and Saudi Arabia, two nations with shared interests and mutual goals.
The discussions addressed several pressing regional and international issues, including developments in the Federal Republic of Somalia, Yemen, and the Gaza Strip. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation in regional and international forums to address these challenges effectively.
