Tripoli:The head of the Italian Defense Industries Agency, along with her delegation, visited the Naval Forces General Staff on Friday to enhance Libyan-Italian cooperation in the maritime sector.
According to Libyan News Agency, Lieutenant General (Engineer) Nureddin Al-Bouni, Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, welcomed the Italian delegation. Discussions during the meeting focused on maintenance operations, equipping the workshop complex with necessary machinery and equipment, and implementing agreed-upon areas of cooperation.
Following the discussions, the delegation toured the floating dock, workshop complex, and piers at the Tripoli Naval Base. This tour aimed to assess the current facilities and capabilities, exploring ways to develop and utilize them to strengthen the Naval Forces' capacities.
The Media Center of the General Staff of the Libyan Army indicated that the visit is part of an initiative to enhance technical and professional cooperation. This initiative aims to support and develop maritime capabilities and improve the efficiency of maintenance and equipment systems.
