Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, emphasised the role of national press in development, prioritising the nation’s interest and reflecting the aspirations of citizens.
In a statement on Bahrain Press Day, Al Musallam hailed the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the press and media in the kingdom.
He noted that the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism demonstrated the appreciation for the efforts of the journalists and media personnel in Bahrain.
The Speaker expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Information, the Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA), national press institutions and all press and media professionals, who contribute to the development and progress of the kingdom.
He said that selecting Manama as the Capital of Arab Media 2024, was the result of the outstanding efforts of Bahraini media with the support of the leadership, government and legislative system.
