Speaker of the House of Representatives discusses with the UN envoy the latest developments in the political situation in Libya.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, met today, Saturday, in the city of Al-Qubba, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdullah Bathily.

During the meeting, Aguila discussed with Batelli the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, especially the efforts made to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, foremost among which are the findings of the Joint Committee “6+6″ for Preparing Electoral Laws.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the need to form a unified government in the country whose primary mission is to hold elections.

In turn, the UN Special Representative, explained that more efforts and consultations must be made to achieve the electoral entitlement in response to the desire of the Libyan people.
