The Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee announced the formation of several committees to follow up the reasons for the interruption of the electrical system throughout the country.
The committee said in a statement: "It is not the first time that the electricity grid has been exposed to collapse, and through some information obtained by the committees, it was found that there was a fire in one of the transport stations in Basra Governorate, which led to the complete collapse of the grid."
It indicated that recommendations would be prepared after the committees finished their work, while the recommendations would include changing the defaulters in their work and referring them for investigation, as well as using the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such cases in the future.
Parliamentary Electricity and Energy called on the Ministry of Electricity to follow up on all its lines during the coming period to avoid such accidents.
