On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, Al-Koni and the Chinese President agree to activate strategic and economic cooperation.

The Deputy in the Presidential Council, Mousa Al-Koni, agreed with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, to activate the strategic and economic cooperation between the two countries and the return of the Chinese companies to work in Libya within the framework of a strategic partnership with a future orientation for inclusive cooperation and joint development.

During his meeting with Chinese President, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, , Al-Koni stressed the importance of the role that China can play, in supporting Libya’s efforts towards achieving stability and accelerating the completion of reconstruction projects, in accordance with the lifting of force majeure on the work of Chinese companies in Libya, and the return of companies that have suspended work in Libya, opening the investment opportunities widely for various Chinese companies, highlighting that China, as a global pressure force, sends a strong and reassuring message to all international companies, regarding the achievement of stability in Libya, and the success of the efforts made with African countries, neighboring countries and Europe.

Al-Koni added that reconstruction projects in Libya need Chinese expertise, and the Chinese model of economic advancement, through which China achieved a qualitative leap of development and was able, with exceptional speed, to move to an exceptional global level, constitutes a model worthy of emulation.

For his part, the Chinese president expressed his interest in developing Chinese-Libyan relations according to strategic and economic horizons that go towards the path of the new global economic bloc “BRICS”.

The Chinese president promised to instruct Chinese companies to return to work in Libya and support the start of reconstruction in the country, stressing that China is ready to deepen mutual political trust with Libya and expand economic cooperation between the two countries according to an inclusive strategic partnership.
