North Korean Defense Minister Kang Sun Nam confirmed that Pyongyang is confident of the inevitability of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea's defense attaché read out Sun Nam's speech during a session on security in the Asia-Pacific region at the Eleventh Moscow Conference on International Security, saying: "The question is no longer whether or not a nuclear war will break out on the Korean Peninsula, but who will start it and when?" Nuclear attacks by the United States and its proxies in South Korea will turn the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia into a new hotbed of nuclear war."
North Korea's mission to international organizations in Geneva earlier called on the international community to condemn the proliferation of US nuclear weapons and take peacekeeping measures./ End
