The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security arrested nine drug pushers and traffickers in three governorates.
The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement: “As part of the ongoing campaigns carried out by the men of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, to pursue drug dealers throughout the country, detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate overthrew three drug dealers red-handed and in their possession (1,800) narcotic pills and a quantity of the drug.” They wanted to sell the narcotic crystal in the city of Diwaniyah, and the seized items were confiscated and the accused were referred to the judiciary.”
It added: "The detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the same directorate, arrested five accused drug dealers who were present inside a house in Al-Jihad neighborhood in Baghdad. After the search, stolen motorcycles, a hand grenade, a pistol, various narcotic materials, and drug paraphernalia were found inside the house." They were handed over, along with the seized items, to the competent authorities.”
On the other hand, through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest an accused wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 3 of the Anti-Money Laundering Law, through his presence in the Al-Jihad neighborhood area in Baghdad, and the necessary measures were taken against him and handed him over to the requesting party.
Meanwhile, the Directorate’s detachments in Al-Rumaitha district in Al-Muthanna Governorate arrested one of those wanted by the judiciary on charges of trading and promoting narcotic substances. An arrest warrant was issued against him in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) Narcotics.
