Benghazi: The National Strategic Workshop for International Cooperation, dedicated to discussing and reviewing the draft National Strategy for International Cooperation, continues for its second day at the House of Representatives. This workshop aims to enhance institutional and community participation in formulating foreign cooperation policies, ensuring that international support aligns with national development priorities, preserves Libyan sovereignty, and optimally utilizes available resources.

According to Libyan News Agency, Wael Al-Ashibi, the House of Representatives official overseeing the National Strategy for International Cooperation, stated that the final day of the workshop will focus on drafting the final recommendations. This will involve discussions on possible options for implementing the strategy, whether by adopting it or proposing alternatives that consider the country's circumstances. Al-Ashibi noted that the existing division could present challenges to adopting a comprehensive national strategy but emphasized that the Council plans to organize future workshops to facilitate access to international cooperation programs that serve Libya's best interests.

Youssef Al-Aqouri, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives, highlighted the strategy's importance as a national framework to regulate international cooperation relations and promote national interests. He made these remarks during the workshop's opening session. Al-Aqouri explained that the involvement of multiple stakeholders and differing viewpoints requires expanding dialogue and discussion. The committee has decided to involve experts, researchers, relevant stakeholders, and civil society organization representatives to develop practical recommendations for a comprehensive national strategy that meets the state's aspirations and interests.

The committee chairman assured that all observations and proposals concerning the document will be considered when discussing the strategy's adoption within the House of Representatives. He expressed gratitude to participants who traveled from outside Benghazi.
