Tripoli: The Libyan National Unity Gathering, under the slogan "Libya Unites Us... and the Nation is Our Goal," commenced in Tripoli on Monday. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, and a number of tribal leaders, elders, and social and political figures from across the country.
According to Libyan News Agency, the gathering aims to strengthen national unity and solidify the values of consensus and dialogue among Libyans, thereby contributing to stability, building a civil state, and creating a conducive environment for addressing national issues with a spirit of responsibility and partnership.
The gathering included interventions and discussions on a range of national issues, most notably strengthening social peace, bridging divides, and supporting state institutions. Emphasis was also placed on the necessity of continuing the comprehensive national dialogue to reach consensual solutions that serve the future of the country.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of such inclusive gatherings in building a stable, civil state, unifying efforts, and prioritizing the supreme national interest. He stressed that Libya today needs the combined efforts of all its citizens, overcoming differences, and working together to achieve security, stability, and sustainable development.
