Morocco’s Army Rescues 12 Sub-Saharan Would-Be Migrants off LaSyoune

Ra – A Royal Air Forces team reinforced by a diver from the Royal Navy, rescued, as part of a search and rescue mission, 12 sub-Saharan would-be migrants, including a minor, off the village of Tarouma (55 km from the city of LaSyoune).

After locating the would-be migrants who were stuck in a cliff, the team of rescuers successfully recovered and evacuated the people in distress, the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces said in a press release.

The rescued people, who were planning to reach the Canary Islands, received the necessary care before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, the same source added.
