Ambassador Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR).
The ambassador commended NIHR’s efforts in promoting and protecting human rights in Bahrain through its initiatives, implementing the objectives of the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026).
Bucheeri also welcomed the formation of the Child Rights Commissioner role, which was one of the implemented recommendations proposed in the Universal Periodic Review.
NIHR President expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, for its efforts in contributing to the protection of human rights and freedoms and highlighting Bahrain’s achievements in international forums.
He stressed the keenness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the ministry to support their efforts and strengthen the Kingdom’s position in human rights protection.
