Tripoli: The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity has announced the return of a new group of Sudanese refugees to their homeland through Mitiga International Airport. This development marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to manage the repatriation of displaced individuals seeking to return to their countries.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry’s media office revealed that the repatriation operations were initiated following a request from the Sudanese government. The operations also catered to the wishes of several Sudanese refugees who expressed their desire to return to their home country.
The Ministry confirmed that these operations were conducted in collaboration with the Sudanese Embassy in Libya. The necessary procedures were completed to ensure the refugees’ safe and organized return. A specialized committee was set up to oversee the operation, ensuring it adhered to the legal framework governing such activities.
