Tripoli: The Libyan government appointed by the House of Representatives has announced a ban on the entry of citizens from Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia into the country's territory. This decision, issued through a decree on Tuesday, affects all land, sea, and air ports of entry.

According to Libyan News Agency, the decree exempts specific groups from this ban, including members of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Libya and their families. Additionally, individuals working in education, medicine, and paramedical professions can enter Libya, provided they have obtained the necessary official approvals and employment contracts from the relevant authorities, in line with existing legislation.

The decree assigns the Ministry of Interior the responsibility of coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure immediate implementation of the decree's provisions at all ports of entry. It also includes measures for handling violators, such as deporting nationals from the specified countries who do not have valid residency permits.
