Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya, Taher Al-Baour, recently held a meeting with the Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs for West Asia and North Africa of India, accompanied by his delegation. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and revitalizing the Libyan-Indian Joint Committee to further mutual interests.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry highlighted that the meeting underscores the strong friendship and cooperation between Libya and India. The discussions aimed at bolstering political, economic, and investment ties, with a particular focus on the energy, health, education, and capacity-building sectors. Both parties exchanged views on regional and international issues, emphasizing the need for continued consultation and coordination to support security and stability, promoting peace on regional and international levels.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of reviving institutional cooperation mechanisms and encouraging official visits between officials and business leaders from both nations. This initiative aims to serve the common interests of Libya and India, strengthening their friendly ties.
Further discussions included enhancing coordination and consultation within regional and international organizations and forums, and exchanging support for nominations and positions of shared interest.
