Iraq is in talks with Serco to settle disputes with it and develop the civil aviation sector

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, confirmed today, Monday, that Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein held talks with the Director of Serco Middle East Company, Phil Malem, specialized in air navigation services, to settle differences with it and develop the civil aviation sector.

Al-Sahhaf said in a statement, “The Minister of Foreign Affairs held talks with the Director of Serco Middle East Company, Phil Malem, which is specialized in air navigation services. During the discussions, the outstanding differences between the company on the one hand and the competent Iraqi authorities on the other hand were settled.”

He added, “The company’s future work mechanism in Iraq was discussed in a way that guarantees the advancement of the civil aviation sector and the provision of the best possible services,” noting that “the meeting was attended on the British side by Baroness Emma Nicholson and the British Ambassador to Iraq, Bryson Richardson, and from the Iraqi side, Ambassador Haider Al-Athari, Head of the Europe Department and the Iraqi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Muhammad Jaafar Al-Sadr.
