Major Western international airlines suspended their flights to and from Tel Aviv, while Russia banned night flights to Israel, after Tawafan Al-Aqsa operation launched by al-Qassam Brigades on Israeli sites last Saturday.

Civil aviation institutions in Israel reported that half of Tel Aviv's flights scheduled for yesterday were cancelled, as well as a third of today's flights until yesterday evening.

The two American air carriers, United Airlines and American Airlines, suspended their direct flights to Israel after the Federal Aviation Administration urged airlines to be cautious.

Delta Air Lines said on Monday that it would cancel its flights to and from Israel until the end of the month. Many European airlines also canceled their flights.

The death toll among Israelis rose to at least 900 people, while dozens were captured in attacks by the Palestinian resistance.

It is expected that the tourism sector in Israel, which is led by beachgoers and parties in Tel Aviv and historical tours to sites including occupied al-Quds- will suffer a major blow with the increase in flight cancellations, and OECD data indicate that tourism constitutes 3.6 % of the total Employment.

The two American cruise companies, Royal Caribbean and Carnival, said that they had “modified” their cruise itineraries in Israeli territory.

The Israeli Civil Aviation Authority asked airlines to “review security information and current threats,” and changed some air traffic routes, noting that delays are expected, and advised airlines to carry additional fuel.
