International Symposium on Media’s Role in Heritage Preservation to be Held in Libya

Tripoli: The Libyan News Agency and the Arab Union for Heritage Media are set to host an international symposium focused on the role of media in safeguarding both tangible and intangible heritage. This event marks the first of its kind organized under the theme "The Role of Media in Preserving Tangible and Intangible Heritage in Arab Countries."

According to Libyan News Agency, the symposium is scheduled for next Saturday at 11:00 AM, taking place at the Cultural and Political Salon within the Libyan News Agency headquarters. The event will bring together a diverse group of participants, including academics, experts, and specialists in media and heritage.

Key figures participating in the symposium include Abdul Basit Aboudia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan News Agency, and Dr. Yousef Al-Kazim from Qatar, who leads as President of both the Arab Union for Heritage Media and the Arab Union for Voluntary Work. Other notable contributors include Dr. Atef Nawar from Egypt, known for his expertise in digital transformation and cultural heritage, and Dr. Moatasem Al-Mufti, a heritage researcher from Iraq.

The gathering will also feature Dr. Ahmed Rashrash, a faculty member at Libyan universities, and Mr. Mohamed Bin Masoud, a researcher focused on Libyan cultural heritage. In addition, several female academics will contribute, such as Professor Rehab Al-Jarbaani, affiliated with Libyan universities, and Dr. Karima Ibrahim Ghaith, an expert in cultural media.
