Detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security overthrew two dangerous ISIS elements in Kirkuk Governorate.
The Directorate stated in a statement: "The detachments of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of Kirkuk managed to overthrow two members belonging to the terrorist ISIS gangs, one of whom was coming from a neighboring country, and he was carrying a false identity to mislead our security forces, and he intended to enter the Kirkuk governorate by smuggling and reach the Diyala governorate to carry out terrorist operations inside the province, where the detachments were able to arrest him through an elaborate ambush that was carried out in the province of Kirkuk and thwart what he was planning.
The statement added: "The second belongs to the so-called "cubs of the caliphate" and pledged allegiance to the terrorist gangs in (2014) and has brothers who are prominent leaders of ISIS. He was arrested in the Laylan district of Kirkuk Governorate, after careful field follow-up, and through high coordination with Commando Regiment of the Kirkuk Operations Command, the storming force of the Kirkuk Police Commander, and a detachment from the Sulaymaniyah Anti-Terrorism Service./ End
