Tripoli: The Government of National Unity (GNU) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to uphold the integrity and independence of the Libyan judiciary. This announcement comes in light of recent rumors regarding alleged judicial proceedings.
According to Libyan News Agency, the GNU emphasized that it will not permit any interference in the judicial process, underscoring its dedication to the rule of law as a cornerstone for achieving justice and safeguarding the rights of victims and all involved parties. This statement aims to dispel any doubts about the government’s stance on judicial matters.
The Ministry of Justice, under the GNU, has categorically denied recent allegations regarding the release of Abdullah Al-Senussi, a high-profile detainee. The ministry’s media office clarified that information circulating on social media about the alleged issuance of a release procedure for Al-Senussi is misleading. The ministry confirmed that Al-Senussi remains in custody, actively participating in ongoing legal proceedings, and no release order has been issued.
In response to the spread of misinformation, the Ministry urged citizens to be cautious of what it describes as anonymous campaigns attempting to manipulate public opinion with false narratives. The Ministry further encouraged media outlets to rely on official communications from its platforms or other judicial entities for accurate updates on judicial matters and related cases.
