Following Meeting with Head of Government: Oil Ministry Says its Recommendation of Changing Board of NOC Still in Place and Awaits Cabinet Consideration.

Tripoli, The Ministry of Oil and Gas said it fully carries out its duties against all odds.

This came in a statement following a meeting held at the Cabinet headquarters on Sunday in response to instructions by the Head of the Cabinet, to follow up on the work of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the affiliated companies, to get a firsthand account of the problems facing them.

The Prime Minister has issued instructions, at the meeting slated to discuss difficulties facing the Ministry since its establishment and proposed solutions, to take some measures which will help the Ministry of Oil and Gas to overcome difficulties and carry out its duties, the Ministry said in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by the Libyan news agency.

The Ministry affirmed that its recommendation regarding changing the board of the National Oil Corporation was still in place, and it was awaiting it be put forward to the Cabinet, by the prime Minister who confirmed this.

It also reaffirmed that the Decision No. (35) Regarding suspension of the Chairman of the Board of the National Oil Corporation, as stated in the decision, was still effective, and needed to be executed by the law-enforcement agencies.
