Director General of LANA discusses aspects of cooperation with the Union of OIC News Agencies.

The Director General of the Libyan News Agency (LANA), Ibrahim Al-Majbri, met yesterday with the Acting Director-General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), Muhammad Al-Yami, on the sidelines of the “Russia-Africa” summit held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation between LANA and UNA in areas of common interest, especially in the area of news exchange and training.

The two parts also discussed choosing the city of Benghazi as the capital of Islamic culture for 2023, whose opening ceremony is expected to take place on September 16, coinciding with the anniversary of Sheikh of the Martyrs Omar Al-Mukhtar.

The meeting discussed the logistical support mechanisms that UNA will provide for the success of the event, including holding an international conference to discuss media and cultural issues in the Islamic world and Libya.
