Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, held discussions with Mas’ad Boulos, an advisor to US President Donald Trump on African affairs, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring strategic partnership prospects between Libya and the United States.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting covered opportunities for collaboration in energy, minerals, infrastructure, health, and communications. Dbaiba emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering economic partnerships with the United States, encouraging the involvement of major American companies in Libyan development and investment projects.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office highlighted a presentation on Libya’s strategic economic partnership, valued at approximately $70 billion. The presentation included projects in various sectors, facilitating organized American investment entry into the Libyan market. Discussions also touched on developments in the oil sector, focusing on opportunities in new oil fields and efforts to enhance transparency and sustainable returns in the energy sector.
The meeting also addressed the Palestinian issue, with Dbaiba voicing Libya’s condemnation of actions against the Palestinian people in Gaza. He called for an immediate end to aggression, the lifting of the blockade, and protection for civilians.
The office reported that Mas’ad Boulos conveyed the US administration’s support for stability efforts in Libya, affirming Washington’s interest in continuing and expanding cooperation with the Government of National Unity.
