Tripoli: Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour engaged in a meeting in Tripoli with key European officials, including the Head of the European Union Mission to Libya and the Commander of the European Union Naval Force, Irini, along with his Deputy. The session also saw the participation of several Partnership and Cooperation Advisors from the European External Action Service.
According to Libyan News Agency, the focus of the meeting was to review the mandate and objectives of Operation Irini, a European initiative aimed at enhancing security in the Mediterranean region. Discussions centered on fostering effective bilateral cooperation to combat illegal activities such as fuel smuggling, arms trafficking, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and environmental crimes. An essential aspect of the meeting was to strategize on the exchange of information regarding groups involved in these illicit activities.
