Tripoli- Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba visited the main room for securing and protecting elections affiliated to the Security Operations Department at the Ministry of Interior, to follow up on its preparations to secure the electoral process.

“Dabaiba” continued during his visit to the virtual operation of “electoral simulation” organized by the Ministerial Committee to Support the Elections and supervised by the Main Chamber for Securing the Elections of the Department of Security Operations at the Ministry of Interior, which targeted the cities of “Al-Qubba – Derna – Jado – Sabha – Tripoli – Zliten.”

In a speech on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the elements of the Ministry of Interior conveyed their message to the Libyans and the international community that they are ready to secure the elections, calling on them not to give any opportunity to those trying to pass the extension projects on the pretext of the inability to secure the elections.

Dabaiba reiterated that the national unity government fulfilled its logistical obligations in the electoral process despite what he described as distortion attempts, explaining that the previous elections were disrupted due to weakness and confusion of the appeals mechanism within the electoral law.

The Prime Minister stressed in his speech that there is no other executive authority or a new transitional phase after the fall of the arguments for securing the elections, noting that the simulation organized by the Ministerial Committee to Support the Elections today confirmed the ability to implement the plan to secure the elections away from auctions.

The simulation process was attended by the Head of the United Nations Mission to Libya, “Abdullah Batili”, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the High National Elections Commission, “Imad Al-Sayeh”, in addition to a number of government ministers and a number of ambassadors accredited to Libya.
