Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba of the Government of National Unity held a meeting with the head of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs and his deputies to assess the Authority's operations and preparations for the upcoming 1447 AH Hajj season. The discussions included the registration process and the ongoing organizational and technical preparations.
According to Libyan News Agency, the head of the Authority presented a detailed report on registration updates, revealing that 1,513,818 pilgrims have registered for the Hajj lottery. This includes 864,011 males and 649,807 females. The report highlighted that 760,263 individuals registered via the web platform, while 753,555 used the mobile application. Additionally, there were 89,361 cancellations recorded.
The presentation also detailed the Authority's efforts to secure accommodations. Accredited hotels in Mecca, such as Hilton Convention Hotel, The Address Hotel, and DoubleTree by Hilton, were selected, adhering to the requirements set by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia. These hotels are located in proximity to the Grand Mosque. Furthermore, distinguished accommodations are provided in the central area near the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.
Dabaiba underscored the importance of maintaining high standards of organization and transparency, ensuring that arrangements related to registration, accommodation, food, and transportation are in place to provide optimal services to pilgrims. He emphasized the need for thorough preparations to enable safe and easy performance of rituals.
He directed that all stages of preparation be closely monitored, with strict adherence to requirements and no leniency in any organizational or service aspect. Dabaiba stressed that the success of the Hajj season is a top priority and is reflective of Libya's commitment to providing the best services to pilgrims.
