Bathiliy at meeting in New York with Al Sunni: I look forward to meeting, cooperating and communicating with all Libyans in order to push for stability and get out of the current crisis

New York-UN Secretary-General new envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathiliy confirmed that he looked forward to working soon from inside Libya and his keenness to meet and cooperate with all parties and listen and communicate with all Libyans in order to support stability and get the country out of the current crisis.

   This came during Bathiliy’s meeting with Libya’s representative to the United Nations, Al Taher Al-Sunni, in New York, to discuss the latest developments in Libya, and the challenges facing the political process.

Al-Sunni said in a tweet: “I was pleased to meet with Bathiliy, the new envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Libya, and we welcomed the start of his mission as the first African envoy to Libya, and his keenness to be his first official meeting with the Libyan mission in New York. “During the meeting, we stressed the importance of the United Nations mission resuming its activities in Libya, to lend support to the Libyan leadership and ownership of the solution,” he added.
