Bahrain will host the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Development Forum for Arab Region (RDF-ARB) on November 6-8.

The forum is organized by ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) and hosted by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.

It provides an opportunity for high-level dialogues, cooperation and partnerships between policymakers in the field of communications and information technology, academic institutions, regional and international development agencies and organizations.

The forum will discuss topics related to the ITU Centres of Excellence, the regional contributions to implement the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) in an effort to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The RDF-ARB is held periodically to discuss accomplishments in developing the telecommunications sector, and to address digital development, innovation and entrepreneurship for sustainable digital development in the Arab region.

The forum’s last edition was held virtually in November 2020, and this is the first in-person edition of the forum which will be hosted by Bahrain.
